Sow outdoors in spring after last frost, or indoors three weeks before the last frost. Grows best in warm, fertile, well-drained soil. Water consistently. Feed monthly with side dressing of compost or vegetable fertilizer.
Harvest when shells are thumbnail hard. Cut from vine leaving a one-inch handle. Cure outside for seven to ten days but do not allow to freeze. Store in a cool, dry place.
