Find The Key To Beautiful Skin Care In Your Garden
In honor of National Skin Care Day on June 1st, we’re highlighting some of our favorite herbs and veggies for keeping skin healthy, vibrant, and glowing! Great skin care doesn’t have to come from the store. It can start in your garden. Grow your glow with these herbs and veggies.
Lavender – Is protecting, soothing and promotes healing. Use as an astringent to help control oily skin.
Tomatoes – Are high in Vitamin C and carotenoids like lycopene, which are antioxidants and contribute to UV protection.
Chamomile – Contains alpha-bisabolol, apigenin, and chamazulene, as well as vitamins A & C, which work to soothe, heal, and brighten skin.
Basil – Is high in Vitamin C and antioxidants. Basil reduces inflammation and stimulates cell regeneration to prevent the signs of aging.
Carrots – Are rich in Beta carotene, which our bodies convert into Vitamin A. Vitamin A aids in skin repair and rejuvenation, as well as healthy vision.
Bell Peppers – Especially red, yellow, and orange bell peppers are high in Vitamins A & C, as well as antioxidants.
Cucumbers – Are packed with Vitamins like C, K, and Folic Acid and other antioxidants which help to fight the free-radicals that can damage skin and increase signs of aging like fine lines and wrinkles. Cucumbers also promote collogen production and reduce inflammation.
Rosemary – Has antioxidants and antimicrobial properties, and works well used as an astringent on acne-prone skin.
So get growing to get glowing!
