Start indoors 8-12 weeks before last frost. Transplant to a sunny location
outdoors, with rich, fertile soil 4-6 weeks before last frost, but protect from freezing. In zones 7+ artichokes can be started in fall.
Harvest buds before petals begin to open. Leave about 3” of stem at the
base of the head. Best when enjoyed fresh, but can be refrigerated for up to 5 days.
