Direct sow seeds in late spring in moist, well-drained soil when soil has warmed to 65°F. Grows best in a sunny location protected from wind. Start indoors six weeks before last spring frost. Tolerates poor soil and prefers drier conditions, but be sure to water during long, dry periods.
For best germination, soak seeds in water 24 hours before planting. Do not fertilize plants.
