Rich, raspberry-rose, fully double blossoms cover the towering stalks of this old-fashioned garden favorite. Easy to grow plants tolerate heat and drought. An improved Chater’s variety, it blooms the first year and flowers longer during the season. Attracts pollinators. Summer Carnival won an All America Selections award in 1972.

Hollyhocks grow easily in a sunny location and most any soil. Plant outdoors about two weeks before last spring frost date. Start transplants indoors four to five weeks earlier. Keep young plants evenly moist. Can be cut back in fall to encourage growth.
Hollyhocks are short-lived biennials. Replant every two to three years for continuous blooms.
