Plant outdoors in full sun in well-drained, slightly alkaline soil. Sow anytime in warm climates, or midspring in cold areas. Start indoors six weeks prior to planting. Seeds are slow to germinate.
Plant may not bloom until the second year. For drying, cut flower stems just as the bottom flowers begin to open, and hang to dry in the shade.
